Josh Giddey’s Half-Court Buzzer-Beater Lifts Bulls to Victory Over Lakers
Chicago: Josh Giddey hit an incredible half-court shot at the buzzer, giving the Chicago Bulls a thrilling 119-117 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
The Bulls were trailing by five points with just 12.6 seconds left, but they didn’t give up. Patrick Williams and Coby White made back-to-back three-pointers to keep them in the game. Giddey was the star, finishing with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. White led the team with 26 points, while Kevin Huerter added 21 points to help Chicago win their ninth game in the last 11.
Austin Reaves sank two free throws with 13 seconds left, putting the Lakers ahead 115-110. Although it appeared that they would prevail, the Bulls had other ideas.
With ten seconds remaining, Williams made a three-pointer to narrow the advantage. With six seconds remaining, White made another three-pointer after Giddey stole the ball from LeBron James, giving the Bulls a 116-115 lead.
With three seconds remaining, the Lakers led 117-116 thanks to a fast layup from Reaves. Giddey, however, took a half-court shot at the buzzer in the last second, and it went in! A shocking triumph was celebrated by the Bulls.
